St.Patrick by Siobhán O Sullivan
La fheile Padraig
Tá se ann
Ta an seamróg
Ag fás ag an t am seo
When St.Patrick was young
Pirates came
They put him in a boat
And to Ireland he came
They sold him as a slave
A Sheppard he now became
To a man called Milku
Who lived on Slieve Mish
And probably gave him a cane
He escaped one day
At the dead of night
When Milku woke up
He must have had a fright
He had a dream
One night
God gave him
Some orders and advice
To Ireland
He returned
With a new life
What a lovely lad to return
He thought us
The holy trinity
With some shamrock
It was a clever way
To teach us the holy trinity
St.Patrick
He rid us of the snakes
He didn’t even use
A rake
On the 17’Th of March
Is his feast day
We thank him
In every way
We parade
Through town
So he’s
Not let down
Hurrah for St.Patrick hurrah
Hurrah for St.Patrick hurrah
He’s our patron saint
I haven’t got a doubt
He’s one of the best saints around
