Looking at our Hedgerows

1st, 2nd and 3rd class took a different animal or tree and looked into how they make up our hedgerows. We discovered how importnant every single one of them is to our environment. All the children were put into groups and they picked a topic. They gathered information and pictures, they made their topics with clay. Then they made a presentation in Mrs Dignams classroom.

Healthy Eating

4th, 5th and 6th class are promoting healthy eating.
We made our own homemade pasta sauce to go with the organic pasta that Mrs. Dignam bought. We pulled the carrots from our own vegtable garden. The meal was very cheap at €11.50. That meant it only cost 50c per child!! I'd say that is the cheapest meal ever.
Everyone in 4th, 5th and 6th class has invented a new day "Fruity Tuseday". On "Fruity Tuseday" everyone is encoraged to bring a piece of fruit or vegtable to school. It is good to see everyone having a munch on some fruit or vegtables. Some childeren bring fruit and vegtables to school every day which is even better.
